CANBERRA, AUS Melbourne has gained her third international recognition as a Mystics player thanks to her outstanding achievements, which include a game-leading triple-double and a commanding double-double.
The UC Capitals defeated the reigning WNBL champions Southside Flyers 94-79 at home.
Thanks to an all-around performance from the 2024 Paris bronze medalist. She led players on the court with 15 points, 10 rebounds (co-leading the team), and 10 assists. As the Capitals fought for the final postseason place, the victory was much-needed inorder preserved their prospects of making the playoffs.
But after a close road loss to the Sydney Flames, 92-88, their season ended. Melbourne continued to dominate, finishing with 28 points on 10-for-19 shooting to rank as the team’s second-leading scorer. She also helped out with four assists, ten rebounds, and a steal.
The captain of the Capitals is still atop several statistical leaderboards as of this season, despite the team’s early playoff departure. She leads the squad in assists (7.0), steals (1.8), points per game (14.9), and total points (268). The Opals guard also has the third-highest overall number of rebounds, which is remarkable given her position.
