Britain’s Got Talent is back, and while the spotlight is meant to shine on the contestants, it was Amanda Holden who stole the show during the first live semi-final. The 53-year-old judge made an unforgettable entrance, dazzling fans with a stunning and daring mini-dress that had everyone talking within moments of the episode airing.
Tonight’s show marks the beginning of the semi-finals, where eight talented acts are battling it out for a coveted spot in the grand finale. Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli are ready to critique and celebrate the performances, but for a brief moment, all eyes were firmly fixed on Amanda. Her choice of outfit — bold, glamorous, and edgy — perfectly set the tone for the high-stakes evening.
Among the standout performers tonight are several Golden Buzzer acts, including Linda Mudzenda, The Blackouts, and Vinnie McKee. Also generating buzz is the controversial performer Auzzy Blood, whose unique act has divided audiences but undeniably grabbed attention.
Meanwhile, the spirit of rock and roll was alive on the BGT stage thanks to young guitarist Olly, who delivered electrifying solos to the tunes of AC/DC, Van Halen, and Queen. Despite feeling a few nerves initially, Olly quickly found his groove, soaking up the energy of the massive crowd. Reflecting on his performance, Olly said, “It was just those rows and rows of people — it was just amazing. It felt like I was on top of the world. Every time I perform in front of a big crowd, it just makes me want to perform in front of even more people.”
Olly’s passion for music blossomed during the Covid-19 lockdown, when he picked up the guitar at just seven years old. With his grandad Lee helping him learn chords and songs via Zoom, Olly’s talent quickly became apparent. Lee recalled fondly, “We had an awful lot of fun doing it. The talent was in there.” His father, Simon, also chimed in, joking about the challenge of teaching a 70-year-old how to use Zoom at the same time.
Olly’s ultimate dream? To perform at the Royal Variety Show, an aspiration fueled by his love for classic rock. “I saw my favorite band AC/DC perform at Wembley last year, and I’d love to do the same one day,” he shared. If tonight’s performance was anything to go by, Olly is well on his way to making that dream a reality.
As the evening unfolded, the blend of incredible talent, emotional stories, and Amanda Holden’s show-stopping fashion created a truly memorable start to Britain’s Got Talent’s live semi-finals. With the competition heating up and the acts pulling out all the stops, this season promises to be one of the most thrilling yet.
Stay tuned for more standout performances, shocking moments, and of course, more head-turning looks from the one and only Amanda Holden.
