It appears that West Ham United have emerged as the frontrunners to sign Max Kilman from Wolverhampton Wanderers, despite interest from Newcastle United. The 27-year-old defender was the subject of a transfer proposal from Newcastle, which included midfielder Elliot Anderson and a cash sum. However, Wolves rejected this offer.

Subsequently, Elliot Anderson opted to join Nottingham Forest for £35 million instead. Meanwhile, West Ham United capitalized on the situation and have now agreed on a deal to sign Kilman. This development highlights West Ham’s proactive approach in securing defensive reinforcements, while Newcastle’s pursuit ultimately shifted focus following Wolves’ rejection of their initial bid.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, it’s anticipated that West Ham’s latest offer of £40 million for the defender will be accepted, especially since Kilman has already agreed to the terms of the deal.
