Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, the reigning Olympic champion and world record holder in the 400m hurdles, is set to make her professional debut in the 100m sprint at the upcoming Philadelphia Grand Slam Track meet, scheduled from May 30 to June 1, 2025, at Franklin Field.

This event marks a significant shift for McLaughlin-Levrone, who has dominated the 400m hurdles, securing gold medals at both the 2020 and 2024 Olympics and setting a world record time of 50.37 seconds at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Her last recorded 100m sprint was in 2018 during her collegiate career at the University of Kentucky, where she clocked an impressive 11.07 seconds.

The Philadelphia meet is part of the Grand Slam Track (GST) league, an innovative track and field circuit founded by sprint legend Michael Johnson.
