Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone remains a leading force in track and field in 2025, extending her legacy of excellence from last year.
In her most recent outing at the Grand Slam Track meet in Philadelphia, McLaughlin-Levrone made an impressive 100m debut, finishing second with a time of 11.21 seconds. Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent secured first place in 11.11 seconds, completing a weekend double after winning the 100m hurdles.
Earlier this year, McLaughlin-Levrone showcased her versatility and dominance at the 2025 Kingston Slam and Miami Slam. In Kingston, she won the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.76 seconds and the 400m flat in 50.32 seconds. In Miami, she improved her performances, clocking 52.07 seconds in the 400m hurdles and 49.69 seconds in the 400m flat.
These victories are part of her participation in Michael Johnson’s Grand Slam Track League, where she competes in both the 400m hurdles and 400m flat events. McLaughlin-Levrone is set to conclude her season at the Van Damme Memorial in Brussels, aiming for new personal bests.
Looking ahead, McLaughlin-Levrone is preparing for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo. After missing the 2023 World Championships due to a knee injury, she is eager to compete against top rivals like Femke Bol, who claimed the 400m hurdles world title in her absence.
