At the Philadel phia meet, McLaughlin-Levrone
will compete in the Women’s Short Hurdles Race
Group, which includes both the 100-meter
hurdles and the 100-meter flat race. This will be
her first time running the 100-meter flat race in
a professional setting.
The last time McLaughlin-Levrone competed in
the 100-meter flat was in 2018 during her
collegiate career at the University of Kentucky,
where she recorded a time of 11.07 seconds.
Her participation in the 100-meter event adds a
new dimension to her athletic profile and sets
the stage for potential showdowns with
sprinting stars like Sha’Carri Richardson and
Masai Russell.
The Grand Slam Track series, spearheaded by
sprint legend Michael Johnson, features
athletes competing in 12 event groups, earning
points through two races per meet to determine
group champions. McLaughlin-Levrone has
already secured victories in both the 400-meter
hurdles and the 400-meter flat races at the
Kingston and Miami meets, earning maximum
points and substantial prize money.
Her decision to enter the 100-meter event not
only showcases her versatility but also adds
excitement to the Grand Slam Track series, as
