The recruiting pipeline continues to run strong for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and this week brought some encouraging news for the program’s 2027 recruiting class—especially at a position they’ve been keen to reinforce: tight end. One of the most coveted young prospects in the country, four-star tight end Brock Williams, has confirmed a visit to Columbus, Ohio, where he will get a closer look at the Buckeyes’ football culture and coaching staff.
Williams, a standout at Libertyville High School in Illinois, is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about names in the 2027 recruiting cycle. Standing out with his size, athleticism, and field awareness, the 6-foot-4 tight end has attracted national interest. Now, Ohio State is working hard to make a strong early impression.
In an interview with On3, recruiting insider Mick Walker reported the upcoming visit:
“Four-star Libertyville (Ill.) tight end Brock Williams tells Lettermen Row that he plans to visit Ohio State from June 6–7,” Walker shared.
Williams’ visit isn’t happening in a vacuum. He’s set to be on campus the same time as another highly touted prospect—four-star quarterback and Ohio State commit Brady Edmunds from Huntington Beach, California. The timing is no coincidence, as the Buckeyes are hoping to establish chemistry between potential future teammates and showcase the program’s long-term vision to recruits who could one day lead the team together.
The Buckeyes have a long history of developing NFL-caliber talent at tight end, and they continue to be proactive in building relationships with players early in the recruiting process. Hosting someone like Williams well ahead of his senior season shows Ohio State’s commitment to staying ahead in the ultra-competitive world of college football recruiting.
Williams’ visit to Columbus will include meetings with head coach Ryan Day, tight ends coach Keenan Bailey, and other key staff members. He’ll also tour the facilities, attend team workouts, and get a feel for the Buckeyes’ environment, both academically and athletically.
If all goes well, the visit could significantly influence Williams’ decision down the road. While he’s still weighing his options, Ohio State appears to be in a strong position—an early win in what’s shaping up to be a crucial recruitment battle for the 2027 class.
