The guitar hero detailed his struggles with recovery after a violent encounter where he was tragically shot three times.
🌃 Confrontation on a Morning Walk
The horrific event unfolded in October 2024. Lee was enjoying a routine early morning walk with his dog, a seemingly normal start to the day. However, on the return trip home, he stumbled upon a crime in progress: a pair of criminals attempting to steal his neighbor’s motorcycle.
Instinctively, Lee verbally confronted the thieves. Their response was immediate and brutally violent. They opened fire, striking the musician three times. Despite the volume of spent shell casings recovered at the scene, Lee was fortunate to have survived the encounter and was immediately rushed to intensive care. The high probability of lethal injury made his survival a true miracle. He later admitted that, following the shooting, “The world got darker, more dangerous.”
🩹 The Critical Blow to a Guitarist
Among the critical injuries he sustained, the hit to his arm was perhaps the most frightening for a professional musician. For a guitarist whose livelihood and art depend entirely on the dexterity of his hands and arms, the blow was potentially career-ending. Lee described the damage with chilling clarity:
“The first shot to hit me was in my left forearm. Entered about an inch below the elbow on the underside. Exited topside. It felt like a burn. Not particularly painful, just like a quick burning sensation. I thought it must have been a graze.”
Fortunately, the guitarist’s luck held true. He confirmed that the bullet “missed any bones, and my elbow joint, and has healed remarkably quickly.” While he has physically mended from the traumatic injuries, the emotional and psychological recovery from facing such violence remains an ongoing journey for the revered guitarist.
