George Williams, the captain of England, has set the goal of “reaching Everest” for both his team and his country this year.
The explosive Warrington standoff has set his sights on the Australians and is adamant that they can eventually succeed in Super League.
Given how last season ended, 2025 is going to be an exciting year, especially with the highly anticipated Ashes series in the fall.
At Hull KR, Wolves, who had already lost to Wigan in the Challenge Cup final, were eliminated from the Super League semifinals.
At their training facility, they have a whole wall devoted to Everest, featuring pictures of their players’ player of the match from each round as they climb to the top.
As they attempt to win a league title for the first time since 1955, head coach Burgess has made few changes to his team.

However, 30-year-old former Wigan ace Williams believes that’s not a terrible thing. We’ve added some people who will help us in the future,” he remarked. However, we now know how we want to play.
Team Regain Identity
“We’ve got our identity now; when you watch Warrington, we won’t always win but you’ll know what we’ll bring. “We are passionate, play for the shirt, and clearly want to win. Our objective remains unchanged: we still hope to go to the finals, win those finals, and eventually make it to the Grand Finals.
We still have a long way to go. This season, we’ll undoubtedly have a different plan, but we’ll establish goals, put in a lot of effort, and then attempt to put the puzzle pieces together.”
Naturally, Williams is completely aware of what it takes to finish the job because he has won Super League titles with his hometown team, Wigan. He stated: “We have everything you need; the employees are excellent, the environment and culture are ideal, the work ethic is excellent, etc.

“In sports, accountability is crucial. After 80 minutes of flawless play, it can go haywire for four games. It varies quite rapidly. All of us are being truthful with one another. But in the end, it’s up to the playing group. But in the end, it’s up to the playing group. And I believe we are to blame. After supporting us last year, it’s time for us to deliver.
“I don’t want the year to be wasted. And I mean not win when I say waste. It did seem like a waste last year. It was disheartening that after so much effort, we lost the most important games. It’s terrible. It’s shit. Particularly if you’ve experienced it previously and understand what it’s like to win. I’m desperate to triumph once more.
Britain’s Game Statistics
Likewise, since Great Britain’s success in 1970, the national team has yet to win the Ashes.
Since losing the 2017 World Cup final due to a young touring Williams not being selected, England hasn’t even faced the Australians.
“I’m just glad I get to play them again because I haven’t faced them since the 2016 Four Nations,” he said. However, Australia is at the peak of Everest once more. For as long as I can remember, they have been the greatest.
“We’ve been incredibly reliable, defeating the top nations right now, Tonga 3-0 and Samoa 2-0.”However, everyone is anticipating this. We are certain that we can match them.
