Drag arrives in Columbia after a collegiate journey that began at Appalachian State Mountaineers football, where he spent his first two seasons. He later transferred to UCF Knights football for the 2025 campaign, continuing to develop his game against high-level competition.
Although his on-field production has been modest—recording four receptions for 30 yards and one touchdown across his career—his value extends beyond the stat sheet. “I recruited Max out of high school back at Georgia State,” Elliott explained. “He came down and worked out as a defensive end. I remember him being a great athlete who could run and just a strong, tough-minded young man.”
