🇨🇦 The rapidly contested 2025 FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) heads to Vancouver this weekend for Round 2, but the main headline is the competitive debut of superstar Eli Tomac as a wildcard entrant for KTM. The five-round series kicked off last weekend in Argentina and continues to generate significant talking points, particularly with high-profile debuts and surprising results.

🌟 Roczen Dominates Opener Despite Illness

The opening round in Buenos Aires saw series favorite Ken Roczen immediately live up to expectations. Despite battling a gastro-related illness leading into the event, the Suzuki rider delivered a perfect performance, winning every contest to secure the maximum 45 points overall. His commanding victory sets a high bar as the series moves to Canada.

🚀 Deegan Shines in 450-Class Debut

The Buenos Aires opener also marked the much-anticipated 450-class competitive debut of 19-year-old Haiden Deegan. As a wildcard entrant, Deegan did not disappoint, navigating early struggles—including clutch problems and gate pick confusion—to land on the podium, taking third overall for the night. This included a main event podium finish, following fourth and sixth place finishes in the Sprint races. Deegan will not be competing in the Vancouver round this weekend.

🥈 Cooper Secures Solid Second

Another strong wildcard performance came from Justin Cooper, who improved throughout the night in Argentina. Cooper’s second place finish in the Main Event, combined with his fifth and second place Sprint finishes, earned him second overall for the night, placing him eight points behind the dominant Roczen.

All eyes will now be on Vancouver as Tomac adds his star power to the mix, challenging Roczen’s early dominance in the fourth season of the WSX Championship format.
