In a revelation that’s sending ripples through the skiing world — and the hearts of fans everywhere — Norwegian alpine ski racer Aleksander Aamodt Kilde has finally opened up about when he wants to marry Mikaela Shiffrin, the American skiing superstar and Olympic gold medalist.

The couple, who have become a beloved power duo in the world of winter sports, have been together since 2021 and often share glimpses of their life on and off the slopes. But until now, the details about their future together — particularly around marriage — have remained under wraps.

That changed recently when Kilde gave fans a rare insight into his personal life during an interview, revealing that marriage is very much on his mind. Without giving away an exact date, the Norwegian hinted that the question isn’t if, but when.

“I know what I want,” he said with a smile. “And I think we both do.”

Needless to say, fans are thrilled.

Social media exploded with heart emojis, wedding predictions, and messages of support. Some are even jokingly demanding a televised wedding on the top of a mountain—complete with skis, snowflakes, and a finish line kiss.

While neither Kilde nor Shiffrin are ones to share every detail of their relationship, what makes them so endearing is how authentic and supportive they are of each other. Whether it’s Kilde cheering from the sidelines during Shiffrin’s record-breaking runs, or Shiffrin helping Kilde through his recovery from injury, the two have shown time and again what a strong team they are.

Marriage might still be a little ways off, but fans are more than ready. In a sport where races are often decided by hundredths of a second, it’s refreshing to see a love story that’s unfolding with patience, purpose, and a whole lot of heart.

One thing’s for sure — whenever Aleksander decides to pop the question, the entire skiing world will be watching (and probably crying happy tears).

Stay tuned. The finish line may be closer than we think.
