After a year at the collegiate level, former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy has returned to the NFL. Bieniemy has been hired by the Chicago Bears as their running backs coach, according to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports.
Bieniemy was elevated to offensive coordinator after serving as a running backs coach for five seasons during his ten-year tenure with the Chiefs. In 2018, his first season as head coach fell on the same year that Patrick Mahomes made his debut as a full-time starter, throwing 50 touchdown passes.
Bieniemy joined the Washington Commanders in 2023 as offensive coordinator and associate head coach under Ron Rivera, following his two Super Bowl victories with Kansas City. Bieniemy moved to UCLA as an associate head coach and offensive coordinator when Rivera was fired in 2024.
