In a heartfelt show of loyalty to the franchise that defined much of his Hall of Fame career, Chargers legend Lance Alworth has pledged a generous $12.3 million donation toward the team’s new arena project. The former wide receiver, affectionately known as “Bambi” for his graceful play, said in a statement: “Chargers pride lives on in me wherever I go. This team, these fans — they’re part of my family, and I’m proud to help build a future home for them.”

The donation marks one of the largest personal contributions to the project so far and cements Alworth’s lasting legacy with the organization, decades after electrifying fans on the field.
