Chase-Briscoe-beachChase Briscoe led a banner night for Toyota in qualifying for the Daytona 500

AP/Daytona Beach, Fla. Chase Briscoe won the pole position in NASCAR’s “Great American Race,” capping a spectacular night for Toyota as they qualified for the Daytona 500.

Rating: 0.5 out of 5.

Ford drivers claimed four of the top five positions in time trials, and Briscoe, who joined Joe Gibbs Racing this season after Stewart-Haas Racing shut down at the end of 2024, qualified second in a Ford for Team Penske.

However, on Wednesday night, only Briscoe and Cindric were guaranteed to start in the front row. Jimmie Johnson and Martin Truex Jr., both Toyota drivers, were the only other drivers locked in during the time trials.
