🚀 Megadeth is planning to conclude their career with a farewell tour and a final album in January before disbanding. Looking far ahead to the very last performance, frontman Dave Mustaine has a highly unusual and ambitious location in mind: outer space.

Speaking to Metal Hammer, Mustaine expressed his hope that the band’s final show would be played “up in space,” suggesting a full-scale concert on the Moon as a “fitting climax.”

Mustaine pointed to recent celebrity space travel—like that of William Shatner and Katy Perry—as evidence that a musician performing in space is a viable possibility. He noted his awareness of the progress being made by figures like Elon Musk and Richard Branson in interstellar travel, believing that space travel will become common “a lot sooner than you think.”

When asked if he was joking, Mustaine insisted he was serious, arguing that commercial flights already reach high altitudes, putting passengers “basically already in space.”

He then pondered the future of space colonization, stating he personally wouldn’t want to live on another planet. He humorously imagined the sheer inconvenience of a long trip to Mars: “Oh! I forgot my toothbrush!”
