šŸŽ™ļøĀ Alpine skiing legend Mikaela Shiffrin is expanding her brand beyond the slopes, launching a new podcast just days after a strong but podium-less performance at the season-opening World Cup Giant Slalom in Sƶlden, Austria. While the all-time winningest skier fell just shy of the podium, finishing an admirable fourth place, the American superstar simultaneously unveiled a fresh career venture, What’s the Point with Mikaela Shiffrin.

A Positive Start and Realistic Outlook

Shiffrin, who is focused on the lead-up to the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, described the fourth-place finish on the Rettenbach Glacier as a significant victory in itself. Her performance was a strong statement, especially considering she missed much of the previous season due to a serious injury (a puncture wound and muscle damage from a Giant Slalom crash) that sidelined her for two months.

The 30-year-old had the fastest first run but slipped in the final standings, finishing 1.42 seconds behind Austrian winner Julia Scheib. Shiffrin acknowledged that getting back to her absolute best is a work in progress but expressed a realistic sense of motivation. “This year with fourth, I’m over the moon,” she stated, adding that it was a “really, really good step.” Her teammate, Paula Moltzan, added to the US team’s success by charging to a career-best second place.

“What’s the Point?”

The launch of her new audio and video series, What’s the Point with Mikaela Shiffrin, shifts the spotlight from her results to her deeper philosophies. The podcast, which debuted on October 29th, 100 days before the 2026 Winter Games, aims to explore the driving forces behind success and the pursuit of excellence across all fields.

Shiffrin plans to host in-depth conversations with a variety of guests, including elite athletes, business executives, and cultural figures. The debut episode featured a heartfelt chat with her fiancƩ, fellow ski champion Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, where they discussed the mental battles of injury recovery and finding purpose beyond competitive results. This new platform allows the highly decorated athlete to offer fans an unfiltered look at her journey and the values that keep her motivated after achieving unparalleled success in her sport.
